Following a 10 year career as a BBC reporter, Maddy Savage is now a respected freelance foreign correspondent and sought after English-language moderator based in Stockholm.

Maddy Savage's reporting on tech and innovation led her to be voted one of the 100 most impactful and influential people in the Nordic startup scene in 2017. Working as a BBC staff journalist in London, Maddy reported for UK and global TV news programmes and anchored BBC World Service radio shows reaching 50 million people a week.

Since going freelance in 2016, she has been a regular contributor to BBC and NPR (US public radio) as well as publications including The Huffington Post and Monocle magazine. Maddy is also a former Editor of Sweden’s largest English-language news site, The Local Sweden and host of The Stockholmer podcast.

Maddy’s prestigious media background alongside her knowledge of Swedish business, tech, current affairs and lifestyle, has quickly made her a popular moderator choice for a wide range of startup and media gatherings across the Nordics. She is equally capable of turning her attention to other sectors, drawing on her extensive experience working as a general reporter, when she had to quickly develop expertise on a wide range of topics.
